Being a psychologist is deeply personal. Creating a supportive, caring, safe, and empowering therapeutic experience is my unyielding passion. Change occurs with a commitment to work, bravery, and patience. The process is inspiring and joyful, and at times comes with ease.
Erin is a Registered Psychologist who has offered counseling support to clients through various stages of life in our community for 20 years, and in private practice for over 10 years. Erin is passionate about helping adults, couples, teens, and children through a wide variety of challenges including transition to parenthood, adulthood, divorce, or retirement, healing from trauma past or present, addressing unhealthy patterns in relationship, and through loss, including loss of a loved one, a marriage, or an aspect of identity. She has enthusiasm for supporting individuals grappling with anxiety, perfectionism, relationships, trauma, PTSD, cPTSD, grief, depression, OCD, ADHD, body image issues, and one’s relationship with food.
Erin has worked at Calgary Weight Management Centre where she facilitated groups and offered individual counselling as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and she spent several years as a group leader in a cross-cultural study on the transition to parenthood. She holds a Masters degree in Science, in the area of Counselling Psychology.
Erin’s approach emphasizes mindfulness, personal strengths, and the connection between thoughts and feelings. Understanding one’s adaptations to past adversity creates the self-understanding and self-compassion that supports change and new freedom in life. One of Erin’s focuses is trauma and she also incorporates principles of CBT, EMDR, and attachment theory.
